Greenhouse Waste

How We Recycle Cardboard

To address greenhouse waste, such as plastic pots and greenhouse films, the recycling process starts with the collection of these materials from various sources. Upon collection, the waste undergoes a series of steps including sorting and storage, which are essential to reduce the volume of the waste for easier transportation and storage. Once a significant amount of greenhouse waste is gathered, it is transported to a recycling facility for further processing. This process involves steps like shredding, washing, and pelletizing the material to create new usable products. Overall, this sustainable practice helps in reducing waste, conserving resources, and promoting an eco-friendly waste management approach.

Preparing Cardboard for Recycling

To prepare greenhouse waste for recycling, follow these simple steps:

Residential Customers

  1. Remove any excess dirt from pots and planters.

  2. Small pots can be placed inside the recycling bin.

  3. Large pots should be placed on the side or on top of the bin.

  4. Organic waste cannot be recycled by NT Recycling at this time.

Commercial Customers

  • Removing excess dirt from planters.

  • Placing planters in their designated bin or dumpster for NT Recycling to pick up.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your greenhouse waste is properly prepared for recycling and collection.
